Chocolate that makes you happy. It sounds too good to be true, but it isn’t. In fact, there’s plenty of other foods packed with mood-boosting ingredients, too. To help you out, we've listed some below (but only the ones you'd actually want to eat – no one wants to eat a sad, lonely almond when they could be eating chocolate).
Berries 🫐
Berries are bursting with antioxidants, which may help manage inflammation and mood disorders. They also contain fancy-sounding anthocyanins (we can’t pronounce it either), which are what give berries their bright, pretty colours – and also happen to be linked with lower levels of depression.
Chocolate 🍫
But only dark chocolate (sorry, guys). Dark chocolate is packed with over 300 naturally occurring chemicals, several of which help release mood-enhancing neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine. Luckily for you, our signature chocolate brownie (the base used across all our brownies) is made from 70% dark chocolate – which means we’re sparking joy with every bite!
Coffee ☕
We know you can’t function without your morning coffee, but do you actually know why that is? Well, your daily brew is more than just an energiser and a reason to get out of bed – it also helps with the release of neurotransmitters like dopamine and norepinephrine, which make you feel extra peppy and perky.
Avocado 🥑
When in doubt, reach for the millennial food of choice: the avocado. There's probably a reason we eat these little knobbly-skinned fruits so much, and it's because they're positively brimming with the good stuff. As well as containing folate, which can help with anxiety, avocados contain tons of omega-3 which is a fantastic all-rounder fatty acid for the brain.
